Our Legacy
Fairfax State Savings Bank has been located on Vanderbilt Street in Fairfax
, Iowa , since it was chartered in 1924. In the 80 plus years of its existence,
there have been only two CEO's of Fairfax State Savings Bank, John L.
Krall, and the current CEO, David C. Neuhaus.
The original building that housed the bank was built in 1900. A new building was built in 1964 and renovated in 1998. This modernization brought cutting edge technology to the customers of Fairfax State Savings Bank.
In an era of mergers and acquisitions, Fairfax State Savings Bank has been able to remain Fairfax State Savings Bank, all the while, maintaining a stable financial environment. Our assets now exceed $100 million.

Community Involvement
The employees, stockholders, and friends of Fairfax State Savings Bank
take pride in contributions to the city of Fairfax and the surrounding
communities. The bank is actively involved in baseball and other activities
for the local youth.
At Christmas the bank participates in the Tanager Tree project in which gifts are collected for and distributed to underprivileged children. Thousands of dollars are raised for local and national charities through the bank's Matching Donation Program. Our staff members also make personal visits to the elderly and homebound.
For the past several years Fairfax State Savings Bank has taken an active role as a sponsor for the "Especially For You Race Against Breast Cancer." This event raises thousands of dollars for breast cancer early detection and prevention in our area.
The Bank also sponsors Fairfax USA Day, a local Independence Day celebration. The 2009 USA Day is scheduled for Friday, June 26th and Saturday June 27th.
Whether it is literacy though the Fairfax Public Library, education through our local schools, fire safety through the Fairfax Fire Department, we are committed to be an involved corporate citizen.
